I'm a hands-on designer with experience across many domains, and I've led design at companies of all sizes. Most of my career has been focused on creating zero-to-one products. I have designed everything from consumer products to B2B enterprise software, and I have led design for multiple AI startups.

I led design for MVL, a startup studio housed at Madrona Venture Group. Our model is to create startups from scratch, partnering with founders, exchanging our team's sweat for equity. The goal is raising a seed round for each company. Learn more

Our key metric is simple: build companies that can get VC funding. I personally led design for more than a dozen startups that raised a seed round (4 of those were AI companies). I drove the end-to-end design process hands-on, from discovery and vision creation, prototyping, research... all the way to delivering UX designs and working hands-on with development teams. I also hired and led senior designers for additional bandwidth when needed (typically 2-3 companies at a time).

Ran the design team that owned the UX for eBay's largest B2C sellers (5 direct reports across 3 cities). Delivered Seller Hub, a multi-year overhaul and unification of the disparate legacy B2C seller experiences. While managing the team, also worked as a hands-on UX designer, owning the UX for multiple areas of the Seller Hub UX: Overview, Performance, Growth. Created vision and delivered designs for eBay Insights, the v1 of seller pricing recommendations.

Responsible for creative direction, design strategy, end-to-end UX. Led product design for our unique price prediction technology and recommendation engine. Owned design for Decide's iPhone/iPad app and responsive mobile website. Created visual design framework and brand identity.

Designed the Bing Travel iPhone app. Redesigned the Online Travel vertical to align with the Bing rebrand. Designed MSN Travel slide show pages (resulting in 50M+ page views per month, up from 7M). Other projects delivered: Frommer’s Trip Recommender, BLINK (instantaneous flight search calendar), local destination pages, LiveID account migration. Represented Travel design when working with internal/external partners (Frommer’s, MSN, Bing Maps team).

Owned creative direction, UX design, brand identity, data visualization. Designed predictive pricing airfare and hotel search products. Designed and built dynamic price graphs, flight maps & price predictor UX. Created partnership design proposals, leading to a successful deal with MSN. Awards: Webby Award - Travel Category 2008; Time Magazine - 50 Coolest Websites 2006.
